Carmen's Story

A journey made possible by community.

Carmen Valdez was diagnosed with a rare genetic alteration that causes generalized muscular hypotonia, or low muscle tone throughout her body. The condition is so uncommon that very little medical information exists about it.

Thanks to the care and generosity of her supporters, Carmen has gone to Argentina for intensive Neuromovement therapy. Her family can now focus on this important next chapter.

The Journey Begins

Surrounded by people who believe in her future.

Before heading to Argentina, Carmen was surrounded by family, friends, and members of The Children’s Kingdom Foundation community who helped make her treatment possible.

This journey is a reminder of what can happen when people come together for a child and her future.

The Next Chapter

Now the focus is on her care.

The specialized Neuromovement therapists and intensive program structure available in Argentina are not accessible in Carmen's home country. Carmen and her family are now able to focus on the therapy that brought them there.

The Children’s Kingdom Foundation remains committed to helping children and families access the care, resources, and opportunity they need.
